Not trying to be negative, but it's what's on my mind this read-through, so wanted to discuss. Older book series, so less fans pushing for it. One of the things I love! But movie execs would be worried about ticket sales, wouldn't be sure how to market it. It's in a weird place with mature content combined with young characters. All the major characters need it except Gregor and Boots. The books take place over about a year, but the filming couldn't be done that quickly. They would also age faster than the movies could be shot I think. The overall quality of the acting is likely to suffer since they're not as experienced. The majority of the series is dark, literally dark, illuminated only by torches or flashlight, that would be unappealing to audiences I think. Gregor has been taking echolocation lessons with Ripred, the charismatic and violent outlaw rat, and after one session he introduces Gregor to Bane, the white-rat pup Gregor spared in defiance of prophecy (Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane, 2004). Been doing another read through, and regardless of my desire to see more of this series, one of the things I've been thinking about is how there are so many aspects that make the series incompatible with cinema.
